Today, in San Mateo de Gállego,Zaragoza, as part of the European U-ELCOME DSD Project, the first simulation of civil-military coordination in U-space airspace took place on European soil.
🔄 This groundbreaking demonstration featured the dynamic reconfiguration of airspace using ENAIRE’s U-Hub platform, which enabled the release of drone-occupied airspace to allow the safe passage of a manned helicopter from the Spanish National Police.
👩⚕️ Simulated flights by Bluenest by Globalvia and UMILES , representing medical logistics use cases, were integrated in real time with the helicopter through the activation of a DAR (Dynamic Airspace Reconfiguration) from the Zaragoza Air Base.
📡 The entire operation was monitored using trackers from ITG Technology Center, (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya ), and ENAIRE , as well as drone detection antennas provided by Senhive .
🤝 The event brought together a strong ecosystem of advanced air mobility stakeholders, including:
Spanish National Police, Guardia Civil’s Pegaso Patrol, Fire Brigade Ayuntamiento de Zaragoza , Civil Protection Gobierno de Aragón – Government of Aragon , SIAM Cluster and Novaltia Sociedad Cooperativa as the end user.
✅ With this exercise, the U-ELCOME demonstrations in the Zaragoza site are successfully concluded.
📍But this is not the end… a final surprise awaits soon in Fuerteventura!
The project is led by EUROCONTROL , funded by CINEA – European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency , and supported by SESAR Joint Undertaking .
